Magnetic Gas Saver

When I first started installing and monitoring different gas saving devices, the first I tried was a particular brand of magnet... Guess what? It gave me a 13% increase overall in gas savings. I couldn`t stop talking about it. I was telling everyone about it.

This was great! I was rolling around town in my vehicle just enjoying the fact that my gas gauge was going down so much slower. Since then I have become personally acquainted with a few other people who swear by them. One individual that I met had been using a magnet for many years, and he swears that it saves him gas.

Back then I was totally against the people that would blabber off that these devices were useless.

Well, that was a good start as far as testing different gas savers went. After the magnet, I began to test a few other gas saving devices and/or applications. Once I had tested quite a few, I was approached by a gentleman who wanted me to test a particular magnet for him and give him back the results.

This particular magnet gave no positive results. There were no gas savings with the tests I did. This is just one example of when they haven`t worked.

Over time I have tested different magnets on different vehicles and in the end I have come to only one conclusion. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don`t. The testing of magnets as a gas saver is consistently, inconsistent. And, I can no longer pretend to say that I know the reason why.

I must say in my own defense that I do know how to perform true gas mileage tests. I have been monitoring gas mileage in vehicles for more years than I can count.

In order to get true gas mileage results you need to drive many miles ( Thousands ) with consistent daily routes. Your gas mileage will fluctuate with changing weather conditions. But even with this, the fluctuations with your gas mileage will become consistent if you are driving enough miles.

Just FYI: Short distance mileage tests such as 50 to 100 are not even close to being accurate gas mileage tests. There is too much room for error with short distance gas mileage tests. Where as as a long trip will iron all of this out and give true results.

Back to Magnets:

If you are someone who insists that the use of a magnet has given you an increase in gas mileage... I know what you are saying.

If you are someone who has tested one of these magnetic gas savers and you say that they are useless... I know what you are saying.

I wish that I could say one way or another if a magnetic fuel saver would work for you and give you gas savings, but I can`t.

Do I recommend magnetic gas savers? No... Do I still use one on my vehicle? Yes...

66% or 2/3 of the gas mileage tests that I performed did not save any gas. However 1/3 of them proved to give substantial gas savings in the range of 6% to 13% better gas mileage.

I wish that the very first test that I performed with a magnetic gas saver, would have proved it useless. Then, I would be just like the naysayers that say they don`t work. That would have been much easier.

But, since the first one proved to save gas, I got sucked in to doing a lot more tests than I ever wanted to do with these things.

If this article just leaves you hanging with no answer as to whether these magnets work or not at saving you gas... Well, welcome to my world... Sorry! This is just an account of my experiences with these so called gas savers.
